Do Stuff ‘Pie & Mash Shop’ Escape Game Review

We love a good escape game here at Janes, so when Do Stuff invited us back to test out their brand new game, ‘Pie & Mash Shop’ we jumped at the opportunity. This time around, Do Stuff have raised the bar, with fresh challenges and puzzles that exceeded all of our expectations and had us jumping for joy when we managed to crack them.

At this point you might be wondering what on earth an escape game is, it’s essentially a physical adventure challenge in which a group of people (2-5) solve a series of puzzles using clues, hints and strategy to break themselves free within a time limit-usually 1 hour.

Do Stuff’s Pie & Mash Shop is one of the newest games in London and one of the most unique we’ve ever played, with incredible puzzles and a fun East London theme.

The basic premise goes as follows: Pie and Mash shop owner, Albert Bow, has gone missing…You are part of a special task force assigned to investigate his disappearance, and find out what has happened to him.

A year on from testing out their other fantastic escape game ‘Hostage Hideout’, we thought we knew what we were getting ourselves into once the door of the Pie & Mash Shop was locked, but we were completely blown away.

We don’t want to give too much away about the contents of the room, but you can expect: lots of locks, codes and handy hints via a walkie talkie if you require a little extra nudge on a puzzle.

Do Stuff’s Pie and Mash Shop is open daily with the first game at 12:00 and the final game starting at 20:00. We’d advise pre-booking a slot instead of just turning up as places get snapped up fast! A team of 4 is perfect for Pie and Mash Shop but you can have a team of anywhere between 2-5, it just might get a little cramped with a larger team.

Located around a 5 minutes’ walk from Battersea Park Station, Do Stuff Escape Games can be found at The Grove pub- a lovely little spot with a burger and a pint deal for a tenner- with prices starting at £80 per game.

So go on! Test out your code-solving skills at Do Stuff and use our special promo code: ESCAPEJANE to enjoy 25% off your game! Simply head to their website and book in your crew.
