Contemporary Italian eatery Fucina brings the Amalfi coast to the heart of Marylebone this summer with it’s utterly delicious set brunch menu featuring a modern Italian take on breakfast and lunch classics washed down with free flowing Aperol Spritzes and Hugos.

Fucina’s seasonal brunch menu, ‘Colazione by Fucina’, is now available on Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of summer and includes a range of Italian-inspired dishes.

We were lucky enough to be invited down to give the brunch a taste-test and were absolutely delighted with the gorgeous food and exceptional service.

THE FOOD

The brunch menu itself is divided into three sections – colazione, plate and panetteria. We were encouraged to select one option from each, but with the abundance of choice, we found it hard to narrow down our options! Luckily, the waitress was on hand to answer any questions about the menu and offered to cater for any diet requirements we had.

For all of you vegetarian Janes you will be happy to hear that there’s lots of tasty options without meat, and if there’s something you fancy but it has meat in, Fucina will happily alter this for you.

We kicked our brunch off with the Colazione, choosing a croissant with homemade jam & butter and granola with yogurt, wild berries & mixed nuts. For the plate we enjoyed the avocado and poached eggs on toast which has been given a 2017 update with a mortadella taleggio fondue and the bubble and squeak risotto with an Italian twist of crispy panko crusted egg and parmesan.

Somehow after all of this mouthwatering food, we had space to fit in the panetteria, testing the ricotta & strawberry toasted croissant basil & honey which was utterly divine and the Italian-French toast with peach and Italian lemon sorbet. All of the food was beautifully presented and we scrummed it down within minutes of the waitress placing it on our table.

THE DRINK

You’d think with the sheer amount of food we were consuming there wasn’t enough space for anything else! But you can’t have a bottomless brunch without enjoying a drink or three.

So alongside the complimentary coffee we indulged in an Aperol Spritiz and a Hugo. Although if prosecco isn’t your thing there’s thirst-quenching Italian beers that will flow freely for the entirety of your brunch seating.
